Bio

My name is John and I am 15 years old. I have been golfing for approximately 5 or 6 years. I first started golfing with the First Tee program where I am starting to work on my Ace certification and volunteer as a junior coach. I also had the opportunity to play in the First Tee Greater New Orleans National Tournament in 2019. Other golf programs I have participated in throughout the years (some still) include: SCJGA Hootie and the Blowfish, Golden Strip (volunteer as a student coach), Youth on Course, PGA Jr. League, and Grow Golf Now, and took part in a Dustin Johnson School of Golf camp. I have golfed on my High school JV team since 7th grade, am an honors student, and play in the marching band. I recently worked as a caddie for the very first time and I loved it. I love golf because its a fun sport to learn because there are so many things that can affect the outcome and it is an opportunity to hang out with friends. I do not belong to a specific club but love using my YOC membership and playing different courses with the golf programs I belong to and have golfed at over 20 different courses. My favorite golfer of all time is Rory McIlroy.

Why am I doing this?

The reason I am doing this program is because I support the veterans and realize that nobody will ever know what a veteran feels or sees without going into service. I support all veterans and the sacrifices they needed to make to protect the country. I know veterans in and out of the family, some of which struggle to readapt to civilian life. I am also doing this for my love of golf. I figure that helping out veterans while doing something I love would be cool. I think that this is important to help out veterans that were in service since they sacrificed so much to help us. I hope for the best to those that are helped by this program.

Goal: $1,500
